Rizal Monument

Constructed in honor of José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Realonda who was executed by the Spanish colonial government for the crime of rebellion through his writings which eventually led to the Philippine Independence. He is widely considered one of the greatest Filipino historical figures and officially honored as the country’s national hero, which is being commemorated every December 30.
