Benito Soliven Monument

A veteran of World War II, Benito Soliven was a native of Santo Domingo. He survived from Bataan Death March but died later on due to illness inside the prison cell. He served as Assemblyman for Northern Luzon and known as the one who built the port of Puerto Beach. Benito Soliven Academy, founded by Fr. Mariano Pacis, was named after him to recognize him as Santo Domingo’s local hero. BSA has produced high school graduates who became professionals and who are now gainfully employed round the globe. His monument is found at the Town Plaza.
